Even though I have been in the company for 20 years, my knowledge is constantly expanding. Each project is different and has different ways of solving it, which pushes my expertise further. In my opinion, following and adopting new technologies are values that we believe in and that move us as a team and as a company forward. For example, I am currently working on a project that deals with energy storage in the form of compressed air in underground caverns. With McDermott, I also had the opportunity to work in foreign branches or perform author supervision on the construction site. If a person wants to get on the construction site, the company will allow him to do so, I definitely recommend this experience.

I learned about McDermott through a job fair at school. Initially, I couldn't imagine working in a design office and wanted to be mainly in production. Over time, I became a point of contact for production, solving problems that arose and ensuring production standards are adhered to daily. I work with a wide range of materials for different applications, as well as a wide range of products: steel structures, pumps or pipelines etc. In addition to the creation and control of welding documentation and engineering, I also have had the opportunity to participate in inspections and audits or supervise welding on site. At McDermott, we have a global Materials & Welding community where we consult and share experiences and help any technical issues. I applied to McDermott as a buyer, but thanks to an interview with the Supply chain manager, I joined the Expediting team. Expediting opened up something new in me that I didn't know about. My manager trusts me to make the right decisions, which enables me to show more initiative and independence. Thanks to working at McDermott, I have the opportunity to work on large projects with an area of x km2. I am also looking forward to the new projects that await us as part of the Energy Transition. You won't learn what we do in our Piping team at school. It is a set of different activities and activities, not only in a 3D model, that our new colleagues learn both during training and from more experienced team members during real projects. I highly appreciate the possibility of international cooperation. For example, I worked with colleagues from Houston for a long time, I visited Oman thanks to another project, etc. The corporate environment has also allowed me to learn English, due to language courses and the gradual separation of communication within the framework of work duties.

I was interested in working at McDermott thanks to 3D modeling. If a person wants to, you can really immerse oneself in it. I especially like the variability that working on projects offers. You can collaborate with different people and learn something new on each project, be it technical or software. In the same way, every project brings non-standard technical problems that must be actively solved in cooperation with colleagues. Thus, work is not about passively receiving instructions. I work with SmartPlant 3D, E3D and CAD. I also like the possibility of working on international projects remotely.

For example, I am working with colleagues from The Hague on a hydrogen power plant project that is planned to be built in Egypt.
