We see the support of young, skilled and educated people as an investment in the future and we therefore open up a number of positions, particularly in the field of design, directly to graduates, who bring new and fresh ideas. We know, however, that it is not easy to get your career started, and so every new employee has the opportunity to learn from professionals with several years of practical experience in the field.
We cooperate with students in the areas of internships and dissertations. We also participate in job fairs organized by universities or student organizations or we organize lectures at universities, both on our company and on technical specializations.
Besides selection processes for positions directly within individual branches, graduates of technical schools will also have a chance to apply for open positions within the scope of the Graduate Program which focuses on practical work experience. I had already discovered that I was technically inclined at secondary school. I therefore decided to study at university in a field focussing on machinery. At the same faculty I also worked as a research assistant. Thanks to that position, I was able to go to an interesting seminar in North Moravia, where I met employees from the company Chemoprojekt. At the time they were tempting future graduates to join their ranks and I was also enticed. Chemoprojekt was subsequently taken over by the company ABB and eventually McDermott, where I have worked until now. Immediately after completing my studies, I began working as a mechanical designer and soon worked myself up to the position of project engineer. 2 years later, I got the chance to work as a project manager, a position I remained in for 14 years. In 2006, I was appointed to my current position of Sales Manager. What appealed to you about McDermott at the time you began working for them?
Even before I began working for the company, it was obvious that it offered interesting projects abroad and access to first-rate global technology in the industry. Why would you recommend McDermott as an employer?
It is a stable company with interesting jobs and projects, and never made lay-offs during the crisis. Thanks to technology, it is at the peak in the field of Downstream Oil&Gas, that is, the subsequent processing of oil.How would you describe our corporate culture?
The culture is based on the high level of education and expertise of employees, who adhere to ethical principles and teamwork. How do you spend your leisure time? Do you have any hobbies?
In terms of sport, I like downhill skiing. I also enjoy travelling and exploring, and architecture also interests me. I also fill my free time with repairs to a villa from the period of the 1st Republic.
